The Compass Dental Care team took a day off in December 2016 to undertake advanced emergency training  specific to a dental practice with Royce from Cynergex. A valuable day was spent refreshing our skills and developing how to better deal with emergency scenarios within our clinic and role playing these scenarios. Royce travelled from Sydney to Compass Dental Care to deliver the emergency training which was of great benefit to identify and practice the emergencies at the Compass Dental Care clinic. 

The team now have a greater understanding about the most likely of medical emergencies in a dental practice and are confident we have all developed our skills to work together in identifying emergency priorities and working in a cohesive most efficient manner. 

We have further developed our use of advanced airway techniques and equipment, drug therapy in anaphylaxis, asthma, hypoglycaemia and cardiac conditions. 

We hope to never need to use our newly refreshed emergency training skills, however are confident that we can deal with those situations when they arise. We are now better armed with the skills and knowledge thanks to our continuing education day ‘off’. We love continually learning and developing our skills and had a lot of fun and laughs in the process!
